Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that the club are in talks with Raheem Sterling over a new contract.
The future of Raheem Sterling at Manchester City had been under considerable doubt over recent months, with Goal reporting earlier this year that the 25-year-old could be on his way to Spanish giants Real Madrid this summer.
However, according to new claims from Italian journalist Nicolò Schira, the left-winger now appears to be in discussions with City over a new deal, which would see his wage annual wage increase to £20 million while adding a further year onto his current contract, which is due to expire in 2023.
In reaction to the reports, which were relayed by Man City Xtra on Twitter, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many stating their belief that rather than offering a new deal, Pep Guardiola should sell Sterling, while others have suggested that securing the future of fellow City winger Leroy Sane should be City’s priority.
Manchester City are in talks to extend Raheem Sterling’s contract until 2024, with new wages of €20M a year.

What do we think?
Although it would appear apparent that many City fans feel it is time for Sterling to move on, the £144 million-rated winger has undeniably been a success for the club.
Since his move from Liverpool in 2015, Sterling has made 230 appearances for City, scoring 89 goals and providing 72 assists, playing a pivotal role in the club winning two Premier Leagues, four League Cups and one FA Cup.
Only time will tell if Sterling does indeed sign a new contract with the club. However, if the winger does move on to greener pastures this summer, and with the club facing a two-year ban from European competitions, City fans could one day live to regret wishing away one of their brightest talents.
