Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to Sergio Aguero’s post on Twitter, in which the 31-year-old reflects on City’s 1-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup on Wednesday evening.
Aguero, who arrived at the club from Atlético Madrid in 2011, has been in remarkable form for Manchester City this season, scoring 23 goals in his 29 appearances in all competitions for the Citizens.
The latest of his goals came on Wednesday evening, during the club’s narrow 1-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday, sending Manchester City to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, and keeping them on course for a domestic and European cup treble.
Following the match, the £58.5million-rated striker posted images of his goal celebrations of Twitter, stating: “A cuartos de final! // Quarterfinals, here we go #FACup #ManCity”
In reaction to his comments, Manchester City fans flocked to Twitter, with many sending congratulations to the Argentinian international, while others compared Aguero’s remarkable goal record for the club to that of Wayne Rooney’s for rivals Manchester United.

What do we think?
Aguero has been a remarkable servant to Manchester City since his arrival back in 2011. His 254 goals in 367 games rank him as the club’s all-time top goalscorer, and with his latest goal against Sheffield Wednesday, he has overtaken Wayne Rooney’s record of 253 goals in 559 appearances for Manchester United.
