Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that claim Juventus are planning to offer Douglas Costa as part of a swap deal in their bid for Gabriel Jesus.

According to reports in Italian publication Calciomercato, Juventus believe that Douglas Costa could prove pivotal in securing a move for Gabriel Jesus, by offering their winger as part of a potential swap deal for the City forward.

According to WhoScored, who is City's top Premier League goalscorer so far this season?

In reaction to the reports, which were relayed by Man City Xtra on Twitter, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many stating their belief that City do not need another winger, while others have suggested that the deal makes no sense for their club. One supporter, though, appeared to be in favour of a potential swap.

What do we think?

Douglas Costa has endured a relatively slow season for Juventus so far, making just 14 Serie A appearances, with no goals and only three assists. In fact, the same could be said of the £27million-rated Brazilian’s last season, in which he scored just one goal in 17 Serie A fixtures.

In comparison, Gabriel Jesus has been in rather more prolific form, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists in his 24 Premier League fixtures this term, in addition to a further five goals and two assists over six Champions League games, as well as another three goals and two assists over eight domestic cup matches.

As such, it would appear that the compatriots are on differing career trajectories, and with Jesus being just 22-years-old, it would appear that City’s £63million-rated striker has a much brighter future ahead of him than the 29-year-old Douglas Costa.
