Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Kai Havertz is not interested in a move to City this summer.

According to reports by German publication Kicker, the £81 million-rated Havertz would not be interested in a transfer to Manchester City this summer, primarily down to the fact that Pep Guardiola’s side are facing a two-year ban from Champions League football.

According to WhoScored, who is City's top Premier League goalscorer so far this season?

In reaction to the reports, which were relayed by Man City Xtra on Twitter, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many claiming that City do not need the German international, while others have suggested that the player’s rejection of the club is a shame for Pep Guardiola.

What do we think?

Although many City fans appear to believe that Havertz is not as good as Guardiola’s current midfield youth prospect Phil Foden, the German’s stats are hard to argue with.

The 20-year-old Leverkusen player has scored six goals and provided five assists over 22 Bundesliga appearances so far this season, in addition to a further three goals and two assists in his three Europa League fixtures.

Havertz has also averaged an impressive WhoScored match rating so far this term, both in the league and in Europe, with a 7.28 rating in the Bundesliga, and a remarkable 8.08 in the Europa League.

In comparison, although Foden’s record of one assist in 14 Premier League appearances, as well as two goals and two assists in his four Champions League fixtures, is indeed impressive, it would appear that Havertz is enjoying a better season out of the two players, while doing so with a club that arguably does not boast the overall talent of Pep Guardiola’s side.
