Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to City Chief’s post on Twitter that relays reports in the Daily Mail, which claim that former City player Jadon Sancho turned down £30k-a-week at the club before joining Borussia Dortmund.
Sancho, who left City for Dortmund in 2017, has been in remarkable form for the German side this season, scoring 14 goals and providing 15 assists in 22 Bundesliga appearances, as well as claiming a further two goals and assists in seven Champions League matches.
The £108 million-rated right-winger also enjoyed an incredible season last year at Dortmund, scoring 12 goals and providing 17 assists in 34 Bundesliga appearances.
In total, the England international has scored 31 goals and provided 41 assists for Dortmund’s first-team since leaving City for just £7.05million in 2017.
However, recent reports in Daily Mail claim that Sancho was offered a staggering £30,000-per-week as a 17-year-old, as well as being promised a fast-track to first-team football, in an attempt for City to retain the youngster before he decided that he wanted to leave the club.
After relaying the reports on Twitter, City fans flocked to City Chief’s tweet, with many claiming that they would not welcome Sancho back, despite his remarkable form.

He forced his way out of City by going on strike, good player but I wouldn’t sign him back.

Should never have him back after forcing his way out!

Of course he did. And yet we continually hear that City let him go as if we had put him up for transfer.

Spoiled boy with bad attitude. Can’t play for a top manager like Pep, who puts team’s interests first.

What do we think?
The speed at which Jadon Sancho has risen is remarkable.
Having only played for Manchester City U18s and U23s before his move to Dortmund, the winger has scored an incredible 31 goals and provided 41 assists in just 88 first-team appearances.
In the same period of time, Sancho has also made his debut for England, scoring two goals in 11 matches for his country, all before he turns 20-years-old.
