Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post by Gabriel Jesus on Twitter, in which the 22-year-old reflects on City’s 1-0 FA Cup win over Sheffield Wednesday.

Jesus, who moved to Manchester City from Palmeiras in 2017, has been in fine form for City this season, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists in the Premier League, despite only starting 48% of City’s fixtures in the competition.

However, the striker has fared even better in cup tournaments for the Citizens, scoring eight goals in 14 appearances across the FA Cup, the League Cup and the Champions League.

Although the £63million-rated Brazil international did not score in City’s latest victory, he remained upbeat about his side’s progression to the quarter-finals, posting photos of City’s goal celebrations on Twitter, with the caption: “Into the next round…”

In reaction to his post, fans of Manchester City flocked to Twitter, with many wishing Jesus congratulations for City’s progression in the tournament, while others simply stated their appreciation for the striker.

What do we think?

Gabriel Jesus’ ability to consistently return remarkable goal totals despite being Pep Guardiola’s second choice striker is incredibly impressive.

With Sergio Aguero’s advancing years and Jesus being just 22-years-old, the Brazilian, should he stay at Manchester City, will have plenty of time to spearhead City’s attack in the future, and with 10 goals in just 13 Premier League starts, an uninterrupted season of Gabriel Jesus is a frightening prospect.
