Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to footage posted on Twitter, which highlights a stunning solo goal from Man City U18s’ centre-forward Liam Delap during the side’s 6-0 U18 Premier League Cup final victory over Stoke City.
Delap, who moved to Manchester City from Derby County’s youth setup last summer, has been in fine form for the U18s this season, scoring seven goals and providing six assists in his 11 Premier League U18 appearances.
The 17-year-old has also made two appearances in the Premier League 2 for Manchester City’s U23 side, providing one assist, as well as a further two appearances for Manchester City’s U19 side in the UEFA Youth League.
However, on Tuesday evening, Delap stole the show with a goal during Man City U18s’ thumping 6-0 victory over Stoke City U18s, picking the ball up on the left wing, beating several defenders with a jinking run across the penalty area, before slotting his finish past the Stoke goalkeeper.
After Manchester City posted footage of the goal on Twitter, City fans replied in their droves, with many congratulating the forward on his remarkable goal, while others even suggested that City could have the new Lionel Messi in their ranks.
This goal has still got us gassed! ? Take a bow Liam Delap. Ridiculous ?

What do we think?
If this goal is anything to go by, then Delap certainly appears to have enough talent to follow in the footsteps of his father, Rory Delap, and make it as a Premier League footballer.
