Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which discusses whether or not they believe Edin Dzeko was underappreciated at Manchester City.

Dzeko arrived at Manchester City in 2011, and would go on to win two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, one League cup, and one Community Shield over his five seasons with the club.

However, a recent post by City Chief on Twitter has suggested that the Bosnian international was underappreciated in his time at City.

Manchester City achieved what was then their best ever Premier League finish in the 2009/10 season. What position did they finish?

In reaction, fans of the club have flocked to share their opinion on the matter, with many claiming that they only truly appreciated the 34-year-old after he had left Manchester City, while others claimed that he has been the club’s best-ever striker behind only Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez.

What do we think?

Dzeko has returned a remarkable amount of goals wherever he has played in his career.

Before the forward moved to City, he had scored 85 goals and provided 35 assists in 142 appearances for Wolfsburg, helping them to famously win the 2008/09 Bundesliga title.

At his current club, Roma, Dzeko has once again been in the goals, scoring 102 times and providing 45 assists in his 211 fixtures.

In fact, his record at Manchester City is actually the worst of all clubs for which he has made over 100 appearances, with 72 goals and 39 assists in 189 appearances.

Regardless of this fact, it remains clear as to why City fans continue to share their appreciation for the striker, four seasons after his departure.
