With the Premier League currently being suspended, the transfer talk that tends to dominate the summer months appears to have come around early. Liverpool have been linked with a move for RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner for quite some time now and it’s a transfer story that won’t go away.

Werner has been in excellent form this season and his side recently eliminated Tottenham Hotspur from the UEFA Champions League to book their place in the last eight. He scored 21 goals and provided seven assists in 25 Bundesliga games prior to the league’s suspension.
According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, the 24-year-old is currently valued at £72m, therefore, we could assume that his club would be looking for a significant transfer fee in order to release him this summer which could price the Reds or any other potential suitors out of a deal.
