Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has shared a message with his fans via his Twitter account in which he urges everybody to stay safe. The Dutchman, who is valued at £90 million (as per Transfermarkt), called on people to look after each other during this difficult time and released the post on Wednesday morning.
The Reds currently sit top of the Premier League, 25 points clear of the reigning champions Manchester City, but given the suspension of the competition, they will have to wait longer than they would have hoped to wrap up the title and receive the coveted trophy.
Would you like to see Van Dijk given the captaincy permanently?

What do we think?
It remains to be seen when top-flight football will return, however, in times of uncertainty we believe it’s great to see those in a position of influence using their reach to convey the right messages.
Van Dijk has shown himself to be a great leader on the field – something former club star Sami Hyypia appears to firmly believe in (as per The Daily Star) – and now he’s displaying his quality off of it too.
