According to WhoScored.com, Dejan Lovren’s average performance rating this season currently stands at 7.14/10 which is greater than that belonging to Joe Gomez (6.9/10). It’s clear these supporters disagree with the Croatian’s inclusion with one fan suggesting this was a result of there being a small sample size to judge on as far as the former Southampton defender is concerned.
The 30-year-old has made just nine appearances in the Premier League this season and therefore you could argue that is the case. However, based on the responses above, it’s clear that many won’t be taking the statistics by which this has been determined too seriously.
