Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to reflect on Nathaniel Clyne’s time at Anfield.
This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @AnfieldEdition shared a post on their page asking their followers sum up Clyne’s career as a Reds player and rate his time at the club out of 10.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who then shared their views on Clyne.
Did Nathaniel Clyne flop at Liverpool?
Yes
No
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans responding to the post:
With Nathaniel Clyne confirmed to be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season when his contract expires, what would you rate his Liverpool career out of 10? pic.twitter.com/0M7bTlAfKj

How could you rate anything under a 5? He was a solid and reliable player for years. 7 easily

Remember when he’s played 52 matches in 1 season? Sadly injury ruin his career. 8/10.

6.5. People have short term memories but there were easily 3 seasons under Brendan Rodgers when he was one of the first names on the team sheet and back then was very consistent. Unfortunately didn’t fit Klopps style.

The Englishman first signed to the Merseyside club back in 2015 from fellow Premier League side Southampton for a fee of £15.93 million. But two huge injuries and a loan move to AFC Bournemouth disrupted his time at Anfield, resulting in Clyne making just 103 appearances for the Reds. Now that the question has been asked of Liverpool fans to summarise Clyne’s period at the club, many Liverpool took this opportunity to have their say on the matter.
When he was playing probably 9/10 but the fact he got them injuries probably 6/10

7 when he played tbf to him. But ultimately not fit enough and didn’t give us enough in the final third when he did. And was ousted pretty easily by an academy graduate.

6. Composure at the back. Great team player. But he could have more chance with the team. Injury and less chance ruined he’s career

What do we think?
Despite his injuries and loan move away from the club, it’s nice to see so many Liverpool fans sharing their positive messages on Clyne.
