Liverpool signed Emile Heskey from Leicester City on the 10th March 2000 and the former striker shared a picture of himself posing with the club’s former boss Gerard Houllier via social media. The deal at the time was reportedly worth £11m and had finally been completed after months of speculation.
These fans have taken to social media to react to the now 42-year-old’s post.

Absolutely unplayable for about 2 years and a massive part in re-establishing LFC as a European force. It was a pleasure to have you with us.

Great signing for Liverpool scored a lot of goals but also created a lot for either Owen or fowler. On his day he was unplayable? Respect ? YNWA! ??

What do we think?
The former Liverpool star made 223 appearances for the Reds before he eventually left for Birmingham City in 2004. During his time at Anfield, the former England international scored 60 goals and provided nine assists according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
In an interview with the Guardian back in September 2019, he spoke of feeling homesick when he first moved to Merseyside from the East-Midlands but things worked out well for Heskey in the end. The 6ft 1in attacker won two league cups, an FA Cup and the UEFA Cup before his eventual departure and based on the replies above, his popularity is clear.
