Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to discuss the role of striker Divock Origi in Jurgen Klopp’s side.
This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @LFCTransferRoom shared a post on their page relaying quotes made by football journalist Paul Joyce in an article from The Times.
Joyce asked hypothetically if Origi would be capable of performing consistently in Liverpool’s attacking line should the like of Mohamed Salah or Roberto Firmino find themselves unavailable.
Is Divock Origi good enough to play for Liverpool?
Yes
No
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who then decided to share their thoughts on the Belgian.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans responding to the post:
“What if Salah or Bobby were missing for a sustained length of time"? Could Origi take the strain of leading the line for a dozen successive games? If the answer is no then that might help LFC reach a conclusion over their interest in players such as Sancho and Werner @_pauljoyce

Origi has scored some very important goals as we know but as for the world class striker that we crave I personally dont think he will ever be good enough

The answer is clear and simple NO

The 24-year-old, who is currently valued at £18 million according to Transfermarkt, first signed to the Merseyside club back in 2014 from French side LOSC Lille for a fee of £11.37 million (per Transfermarkt). Since then, Origi has gone on to make 132 appearances for the Reds, scoring 33 goals and providing 12 assists.

One of Origi’s most memorable goals for Liverpool came in the previous Champions League final against fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. Now that questions have been asked of Origi’s ability to lead the Liverpool attack, many Reds fans have been sharing their views on the forward on Twitter.
As much as we all love Origi, he can’t take the strain one bit. We’ve been lucky to have Mane, Salah, & Bobby fit for as long as they have been most seasons. AFCON in January will mean Mane/Salah miss 4-7 games immediately. We need to add if we want to dominate the division.

No. Origi is an OK super sub as a ST but he has looked horrible on the wing.

Origi should be sold

What do we think?
Origi’s goal-scoring record for the club has proven he has been a good servant since his arrival. But it appears that the patience of these Liverpool fans has run out over the Belgian.
