Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to take aim at Mohamed Salah for his poor display against Watford at the weekend.

This comes after the Reds succumbed to their first Premier League defeat of the season with a 3-0 loss at Vicarage Road on Saturday evening.

Did Salah have his worst game of the season against Watford?

After the match had ended, Salah’s performance, in particular, fell victim to lots of abuse on Twitter from some very angry Liverpool fans.

Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans criticising Salah:

The Egyptian winger played the full 90 minutes of the defeat at Watford, earning himself a match rating of 5.7, the joint third-lowest of any Liverpool player (per WhoScored). Currently, Salah has been Liverpool’s second-best player so far this season with a rating of 7.41, but after his display against Watford, this has paved the way for lots of Liverpool fans to disregard his efforts in the past and instead just slate him for his poor performance in this latest match.

What do we think?

While it’s understandable why these Liverpool fans are upset at the result given that it has been their first defeat in the league all season, it seems quite unfair to be laying all of the blame at Salah’s feet. The hope for the Liverpool fans now would be that Salah’s performance against Watford was just a bad day at the office as they look forward to their next game.
