Liverpool fans have flocked to Twitter to share their concern about the drop in level of Fabinho after his performance in the Reds’ 2-1 win over AFC Bournemouth at the weekend.
This comes after the Brazilian, who is valued at £63 million (as per Transfermarkt), played his part in the Reds’ 2-1 victory at Anfield against Eddie Howe’s side. Unfortunately for Fabinho, his performance in the match caught a lot of unwanted attention from plenty of Liverpool fans.
Should Fabinho start against Atletico Madrid in midweek?
Yes
No
After the match had ended and Jurgen Klopp’s team hand finished their home comeback against the relegation side, lots of Liverpool fans took to Twitter to share their disappointment over Fabinho’s display in the win.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans showing their displeasure with Fabinho:
Sorry but Fabinho has literally forgotten how to play football since he came back from injury

Fabinho utterly useless again

Fabinho has turned into going from one of the best DMs in the world into one of the worst to ever play there, his injury has really killed his rhythm off ? Not Nice to a player who was so important for us last season.

After the match, WhoScored awarded the 26-year-old with a match rating of 6.5, the joint second-lowest score given to a starting Liverpool player. Along with this disappointing rating, waves of abuse and criticisms were sent Fabinho’s way after the match from lots of Liverpool fans.
Our midfield is non existent. Fabinho has been a shadow of himself. The team is really struggling. Fatigue is really telling. Sigh. #LIVBOU

Fabinho chasing shadows. Something is not right with him

Fabinho, once a press and tackle demon, seems to be a passenger since his return.

What do we think?
Even though they managed to come from a goal down early on from the relegation side to win the match, Fabinho’s performance couldn’t manage to escape this level of criticism from the Liverpool fans. With Liverpool preparing to come from a goal down once again in their midweek Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid, the fans will be hoping Fabinho can improve his game to help Klopp’s side progress in the competition.
