The Athletic’s Liverpool reporter James Pearce recently shared a clip of former striker Luis Suarez being presented with the PFA Player of the Year award for the 2013/14 season along with some of his most impressive goals.
Here’s how some of the fans have reacted to the post.
Missed 7 odd games at the start and still scored 31 goals, mental. Could’ve had his own goal of the season montage as well. Some great memories there, truly world class player

One of my favourite Liverpool players ever. Nobody knew what he was going to do because he didn’t even know himself!

Would Suarez displace Firmino in the current Liverpool team?
Yes
No
What do we think?
Luis Suarez scored 31 goals in 33 Premier League appearances for the Reds that season and in our view, truly deserved to receive the award. Signed from Ajax in 2011 for £23.85m (via Transfermarkt.co.uk), the forward went on to play 133 times for the Anfield giants. During that time, he scored a total of 82 goals as well as providing an incredible 47 assists for his teammates.
The Uruguayan eventually left in the summer of 2014 in a deal reportedly worth £73.55m for Barcelona, for whom he has continued his incredible goalscoring form. Since arriving in Catalonia, the 33-year-old has contributed 191 goals in 270 appearances.
Despite his departure, it’s clear from the responses above that these supporters are still appreciative of what Suarez gave to Liverpool during his time at Anfield.
