The Liverpool Echo’s Bobby Vincent has listed a number of alternatives Jurgen Klopp could potentially look at should the club fail to land Timo Werner this summer. 24-year-old Werner currently plays his football for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga and is valued at £72m, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
The three players listed by Vincent were Monaco’s Wissam Ben Yedder, Atalanta’s Josip Ilicic and Lazio’s Ciro Immobile. These Liverpool fans have been discussing whether or not they would like to see the Italian striker come to Anfield this summer and here is what some of them had to say.
Would prefer Werner solely because of age but Ciro is word class ??

What do we think?
Immobile, who is valued at £45 million (as per Transfermarkt), is having an outstanding season for Lazio. He has scored 27 goals in 26 Serie A appearances so far, as well as contributing seven assists. However, a number of the fans above mentioned the striker’s age as a reason why they would prefer to sign somebody else – and that is because the former Borussia Dortmund forward is 30 years old.
The Italian has history with Klopp, who was in charge of Dortmund when Immobile moved to the club from Torino in a £15.5 million deal, but he struggled to adapt and ended his debut campaign with just three Bundesliga goals in 24 appearances.
Would you like to see Ciro Immobile join the Reds?
Yes
No
And, he went on to be selected on a list of the three biggest Dortmund flops in the past twenty years (as per Il Messaggero), with Immobile returning to Italy when he joined Lazio in July 2016 via spells at Sevilla and Torino.
His average performance rating in the league currently stands at 7.70/10 according to WhoScored.com, highlighting how consistently Immobile has performed throughout this campaign.
