Liverpool fans have flocked to Twitter to react to recently posted footage of former Red Xabi Alonso in action for the club.
This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @TheAnfieldWrap shared a post on their page that included a video from @ViewOfTheKop_ of Alonso’s stunning assist for Luis Garcia in the Reds 2-0 win over Sunderland in 2005.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who were in awe with what they saw from their former midfield man.
Is Xabi Alonso the best passer that Liverpool have ever had?
Yes

Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans responding to the post:

Insane. How does he even spot the pass let alone execute it.

The footage shows Alonso pulling off a pinpoint long-range pass up the pitch to play in Garcia to score against the Black Cats. During his five years at Liverpool, the Spaniard made 210 appearances for the club in which he scored 18 goals and provided nine assists (per Transfermarkt). Now that this footage of one Alonso’s nine assists for the club has been doing the rounds on Twitter once again, this has paved the way for plenty of Liverpool fans to gush over the former Red and his assist against Sunderland.

What do we think?
The assist from Alonso was a thing of beauty, which makes it understandable why so many Liverpool fans have been drooling over it once again.
