Timo Werner has told Sky Sports he is not convinced about joining Liverpool over staying at RB Leipzig despite it being widely reported he is a target for a host of top European clubs. The German international made the comments regarding his future prior to the second leg of their UEFA Champions League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.
Considering that less than a month ago, the 24-year-old was said to have hinted he wanted a move to Merseyside, his latest remarks have come as a surprise to many Liverpool supporters.
Should Liverpool be looking elsewhere for an attacker?
Yes
No
Obviously doesn’t have the mentality for our team, scared to fight for a place? ?

To be honest the way he was talking i thought he talking hes way out of a move to us

Move on to other targets, we’ve seen the value over the last few seasons of players coming who really want to play for us and look where it’s taken the club. Dont want to go backwards

Utterly embarrassing this. We’re witnessing the finest Liverpool side ever, on the verge of winning the club’s first league title in 30 years, and a player who may or may not end up joining us in the summer has the fanbase on strings.
Just enjoy those lads playing for us now.

Silly boy. This is the kind of thing Klopp will hate. A player not confident enough to come fight for his place. No thanks.

Stay away from him. Sounds trouble

If he wants to play for a good manager and a guaranteed spot he might as well stay at Leipzig

What do we think?
Werner has been in fine form for the Bundesliga club this season. To date, he’s scored 21 goals and provided seven assists in 25 league appearances. In the Champions League, he’s scored four goals in seven games and therefore you can understand why he’s valued at £67.5m (via Transfermarkt.co.uk). In our view, this is a transfer saga that is likely to drag on throughout the summer so watch this space.
Judging by the responses of these fans they’re not keen on the idea of Werner joining the Reds unless he is fully committed and willing to fight for his place in the team.
