Porto attacker Moussa Marega has been linked with a move away from the Portuguese club, according to a report that was recently published by Sport Witness, which cites Portuguese newspaper A Bola as the source of this alleged transfer news.

A report claims that the Foxes have “shown interest” in the 28-year-old Mali international in the past, amid the current reports claiming that Porto “have promised him” a move away from the club at the end of the 2019/20 season.

Marega has earned an average overall rating of 7.11 from his 20 league appearances for Porto this season according to WhoScored.com, while he has scored six goals and made five assists in Liga NOS this season for a side who are currently sitting at the top of the table in Portugal’s top flight.

According to WhoScored.com, Marega is currently Porto’s fourth-highest league goalscorer for the 2019/20 campaign, while he has also made the joint-second highest number of league assists for the club this season.

He has produced eight goals and seven assists in all competitions.

While he has mainly been played through the centre of the pitch this term, Marega has shown a degree of positional versatility this season, having played games on both the left and right wings as well as centrally, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk. This positional versatility may be an asset that could appeal to Leicester City, in addition to his goals and assists record.

Only two Foxes players have scored more Premier League goals in the 2019/20 campaign than Marega’s total of six Liga NOS goals this season according to WhoScored.com. Meanwhile, Harvey Barnes is the only Leicester player who has made a higher number of Premier League assists than Marega’s total of five Liga NOS assists this term.

With that in mind, it may be understandable why the Foxes may consider making a move for the 28-year-old attacker, who is currently valued at £21.6m according to Transfermarkt.co.uk, should he decide to leave Porto in the summer.
