Some Leicester City fans have taken to Twitter to share their view that selling 23-year-old Ben Chilwell would be a poor decision, amid reported interest in the left-back from Chelsea.

Spanish publication SPORT have recently reported that the Foxes have placed a price tag in excess of £82.5m on the England international, which has cooled Chelsea’s alleged interest in the player. Chilwell is currently valued at £45m according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

Leicester City-focused Twitter account @LCFCFoxes_com recently made a post stating that they would “be tempted to cash in” on the 23-year-old left-back if they were offered “the £80m fee being reported”. This tweet has attracted the attention of some Leicester City fans who have responded by sharing their view that Chilwell should not be sold.

Would £80m+ tempt you to sell Ben Chilwell?

NO, LEICESTER WOULDN'T REPLACE HIM WITH A BETTER PLAYER

YES, THAT WOULD BE TOO MUCH TO TURN DOWN

What do we think?

It may be fair to say that Chilwell has made a notable contribution at both ends of the pitch for the Foxes in the Premier League this term. The 23-year-old has made an average of 1.6 tackles per game this season, in addition to 1.2 key passes per Premier League game according to WhoScored.com.

Only four Leicester players have made a higher number of tackles per game than Chilwell this season, while the left-back has also made a higher number of key passes per game than all but two other Leicester City players in the Premier League this term.

WhoScored have also given Chilwell an average overall rating of 6.97 for the 2019/20 Premier League season, which makes him the Foxes’ sixth-highest rated player for the current Premier League season.

It might be fair to say that the Foxes may struggle to replace Chilwell with a better player if they sell the left-back in the summer, considering that he has made some positive contributions for the Foxes this season. With that in mind, it may be understandable why some Leicester fans have called for the club to keep hold of the 23-year-old.
