Some Leicester City fans have recently taken to social media to reminisce about a free-kick that was scored by James Maddison versus Burnley in the 2018/19 Premier League season.
Leicester City’s official Twitter account recently posted footage of Maddison’s free-kick goal, reminding some Foxes supporters of the “magic” that was produced by their number 10 last season versus Burnley.
Maddison scored this free-kick in Leicester’s 2-1 Premier League win at Turf Moor, which took place on the 16th of March 2019. Maddison’s goal versus Burnley allowed him to become “the first Leicester player to score two direct free-kick goals in a single Premier League season”, according to the BBC.

What do we think?
According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, four of the 16 goals Maddison has scored for Leicester City have come from a direct free-kick, meaning that a quarter of the 23-year-old’s Leicester City goals have come in this manner.
Furthermore, out of the 40 goals the playmaker has scored in his senior football career, nine of them have come from a direct free-kick, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk. It may be fair to say that Maddison’s set-piece taking ability is one of his key attributes.
