Would you take a prime Steve Pienaar in Carlo Ancelotti's current Everton squad?Yes, he was absolute classNo, he was just overrated |
The left-winger spent a number of years with the Toffees between 2007 and 2016, having initially arrived on loan from Borussia Dortmund before becoming permanent with Everton, then he transferred to Tottenham Hotspur and later returned before departing for Sunderland (per Transfermarkt).
In total, the 38-year-old featured in 229 appearances for the Toffees, during which he scored 26 and assisted 49 (per Transfermarkt), leaving supporters keen on the South African.
Probably one of the most naturally gifted players of recent times to play for us, wonderfully skilful.

What do we think?
As can be judged from the responses, it is clear to see that the former winger is quite the cult hero amongst the Goodison Park faithful.
Having featured in 229 appearances and made 75 direct goal contributions (per Transfermarkt), it is clear to see why supporters rate their former man so highly.
