To kick off this quiz on what happened with the Toffees last week, which La Liga full-back were Carlo Ancelotti's side linked with late in the week?

Would you be happy if the Toffees signed Mario Gotze in the next transfer window?

Yes, would be a good move

Yes, would be a good move

No, should go to West Ham

Over the duration of the season so far, the 27-year-old has been the seventh-worst performer for Dortmund in the Bundesliga with a 6.49/10 average rating (per WhoScored).

Having bagged three goals and no assists in 13 appearances in the league to earn the rating (per WhoScored), Everton fans continued to air their displeasure with the transfer talk.

What do we think?

As can be judged from the responses, while some fans stated that they do not want the player, more were frustrated by the notion that the Toffees and West Ham are similar clubs.

However, with Everton’s squad holding a higher market value (£454.23m) than the Hammers’ (£316.58m) according to Transfermarkt, perhaps it is clear that the Merseyside club should be held in higher regard.
