Some Everton fans have been reacting on social media to reports of Chelsea’s interest in signing Richarlison.

Chelsea-focused Twitter account @LDNFootball recently posted a tweet sharing the alleged news that Chelsea are “one of a host of clubs” who are interested in securing the Brazilian attacker’s signature. Chelsea’s interest in signing the Everton man was originally reported by the Daily Express, who claimed that the 22-year-old attacker would command a fee of £80 million back in February 2019, while The Sun has recently reported that the Brazilian is on the Blues’ shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old has been a key man for Everton this season, scoring 10 goals so far in his 26 Premier League appearances. This makes him the Toffees’ second-highest Premier League goalscorer for the 2019/20 season, trailing only Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has scored 13 Premier League goals this season.

Richarlison has also made three Premier League assists for Everton this season, giving him the Toffees’ joint third-highest Premier League assists tally for the 2019/20 season so far.

The tweet posted by @LDNFootball reporting on Chelsea’s alleged interest in the Brazilian attracted the attention of some Everton fans, many of whom shared their view that Chelsea would have ‘no chance’ of taking the Brazilian away from Goodison Park. Read the reactions of some Everton supporters to this alleged news in the tweets below.

Who holds the record of having scored the quickest goal in Premier League history?

What do we think?

Richarlison has earned an average overall rating of 7.35 from his 26 Premier League appearances this season, according to WhoScored.com. That is the highest average overall rating that WhoScored have given to any Everton player this season.

Richarlison’s Everton contract currently runs until June 2024. Given the Brazilian’s impressive performances for the Toffees this season, in addition to the lengthy amount of time still remaining on his Everton contract, it may be unlikely that we will see the Brazilian attacker leave the club this summer.
