Supporters of Everton have been gushing after a Twitter post from Kevin Ratcliffe which shared some old match footage.
On Saturday night, the club’s former defender shared footage from a 4-1 victory over Sunderland from 1985, which was originally shared by @ForgottenGoals (via Kevin Ratcliffe), which had supporters swooning.

That pass is done by a Ronaldo or a Rooney we’re talking about that for years. Only Evertonians recall it. Brilliant player bracey.

If you could go back to one era of supporting the Toffees, would it be the period in the mid-'80s?Yes, that was truly a special timeNo, I would chose another period |
Ratcliffe himself was part of the Toffees’ first-team set-up between 1979 and 1992, having graduated through Everton’s academy and departed for Dundee after 13 years (per Transfermarkt).
Following the Welshman’s latest trip down memory lane (per Kevin Ratcliffe), though, supporters continued to gush and share their memories of the period.
50 this year and still the best goal I’ve ever seen live and that’s probably disrespectful to Andy Gray

What do we think?
It is clear to see from the responses that Everton fans loved the trip down memory lane with the club’s former defender as they almost ran out of superlatives.
It is also great to see the Toffees’ former player having a connection with the club and fans still holding the retired defender in incredibly high regard.
