What do we think?
While many wanted to see Kenny replace Sidibe for the Toffees, the Frenchman has had a far superior average rating this season, with a 7.01/10 in the Premier League (per WhoScored), while Kenny has had a 6.53/10 in the Bundesliga (per WhoScored).
The man on loan from AS Monaco often comes under criticism for his defensive abilities (via The Athletic), however, those concerns would appear to be a myth when considering the 27-year-old’s statistics.
Sidibe has made the most tackles in the squad in the league on average, with 3.7 per game and also the most interceptions, with 1.8 per Premier League game on average (per WhoScored).
For context, Jonjoe Kenny has made 1.5 tackles on average per Bundesliga game and only 0.8 interceptions (per WhoScored), showing Sidibe’s defensive qualities.
