In the midst of the lockdown of English football, Brighton and Hove Albion challenged Crystal Palace’s Andros Townsend to a game of FIFA this week.
Their tweet suggested that a game between Townsend and Brighton’s Neal Maupay would be exactly what both sets of fans would want to see.
However, the Seagulls were utterly humiliated by the reply they received from Townsend.
Would you like to see Townsend vs Maupay?
Yes
No
The Palace winger claimed that fans of the Eagles already got what they wanted when they saw their side beat Brighton at the end of February.
He included footage of Jordan Ayew’s game-winning goal to add insult to injury.
When Palace fans saw this tweet they applauded the banter. They couldn’t believe Townsend’s savage burn.
Boom!

What do we think?
The win itself was massive for Crystal Palace, with it pushing them nine points clear of the relegation zone. It also kept Brighton on the bubble of relegation, with them just being one point away from 18th placed Bournemouth.
One thing is clear though. Townsend hasn’t forgotten about the victory, and it doesn’t look like he is going to let Brighton fans forget either.
