Earlier this week, OptaJoe published statistics on Twitter that identified Vicente Guaita as the best performing goalkeeper in Europe’s top five leagues regarding goals prevented. The Spanish goalkeeper received a rating of 9.6. The second highest score was Newcastle’s Martin Dubravka, with a score of 8.7.
Many Palace fans flocked to OptaJoe’s tweet, claiming that they weren’t surprised. They already knew he was the best goalkeeper in Europe and can’t believe that anybody could still doubt his talent.
People still sleeping on Guaita ?

Other Palace fans are nervous about the praise that Guaita is receiving. They are worried that it could spark interest from other clubs who may be looking to acquire Guaita’s services. The supporters are hoping they can keep their Spaniard’s talents a secret.
No surprise to those of us watching @vguaita13 week in week out, though we had hoped to keep it a secret for a while longer…

Don’t post stuff like this! Guaita seems to have gone under the radar and I’m pretty happy for it to stay like that so that we can keep him at Palace.

Can Crystal Palace keep Guaita for another two season?
Yes
No
What do we think?
A goalkeeper as good as Guaita would surely be worth a bucket load of cash though, right? Well, actually, Palace managed to snag the 33-year-old for free in the summer of 2018 when he left Getafe. We can’t imagine Palace will ever see a bargain like that again for a long time.
