It has been an incredibly bizarre last few weeks for football fans, with many football associations making judgements on the recent global pandemic. On Friday, the FA decided to postpone all Premier League, EFL and WSL fixtures, until April 4, 2020.
It is a decision that has left many uncertain over how the remainder of the season will play out. This was made evident after @villareport shared footage of reporters hounding Aston Villa CEO Christian Purslow over the FA’s recent ruling. They barraged him with questions regarding how the current season will play out and whether Aston Villa’s future in the Premier League could be put at risk, with the side currently sitting in the relegation zone.
Are you worried that Aston Villa might be relegated if the league is abandoned?
Yes - it could happen!
No - they can't do that.
When the fan account shared the footage, Villa fans slated the journalists over their ridiculous questions. They praised Purslow’s ability to handle the press.

It’s like the reporters are following him but don’t really have anything to ask….out of desperation at the end “are you worried Aston Villa might suffer relegation”. Urm well yeah of course why ask that stupid question?!

What do we think?
Despite being the relegation zone, Aston Villa could climb to safety if they won their game in hand. Should the league be abandoned, relegation would seem like a very harsh punishment for the Villans.
