Aston Villa fans have flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on the latest news surrounding midfielder Danny Drinkwater.
This comes after football journalist Matt Maher shared a post on his official Twitter page revealing that Drinkwater was involved in a “training ground bust-up” with fellow teammate Jota.
Did Villa make a mistake signing Drinkwater in January?
Yes
No
In his article for the Express & Star, Maher claimed that Drinkwater’s future at the Birmingham club is now “in doubt”, before adding that the Englishman was “sent home by Dean Smith and could now be fined by the club”.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were quick to share their reactions to this news.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to the post:
Believe Danny Drinkwater's future at #avfc is tonight in doubt after the midfielder was involved in a training ground bust-up with team-mate Jota. Sent home by Dean Smith and expected to be fined by the club. Story: https://t.co/IKIxF3IhRP

The report also claims that the pair were involved in the altercation during a recent training session for players that did not play in Villa’s recent 4-0 defeat to Leicester City. Drinkwater joined the club in the recent January transfer window on loan from Chelsea until the end of the season (per Transfermarkt). Now that the news of the 30-year-old’s training clash with Jota has been doing the rounds on Twitter, this has paved the way for lots of Villa fans to share their thoughts on the midfield man.
Legs have gone he’s finished as a top flight player, send him back.

The fact both of these players are training in the first team says it all about our season. Both utterly useless.

What do we think?
It’s never good to hear about teammates clashing or potentially scrapping between each other. With their latest defeat leaving Villa in the relegation zone of the Premier League table, this is the last thing the Villa fans needed to hear.
