Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to respond to the latest reported news on midfielder Danny Drinkwater.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @villareport shared a post on their page relaying news originally published in The Sun that the Englishman is “expected to be fined two weeks’ wages” after his training ground bust-up with Jota earlier in the week.
Is a wage fine a suitable punishment for Drinkwater?
Yes
No
This post then gathered a number of replies from Villa fans who were keen to have their say on this latest development.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to the post:

The former Leicester City man is currently on a loan deal at Villa until the end of the season from current club Chelsea (per Transfermarkt). After Drinkwater was reportedly sent home from training after the altercation with Jota, there has been no confirmed punishment put in place for the midfield man. But now that it has been reported that a wage fine will be placed for Drinkwater, many Villa fans have been claiming on Twitter that the Englishman should leave Villa Park.
Send him back, last thing we need is this kind of disruption and negativity in the changing room.

Gross mis-conduct, how many chances does he need, get rid
— Mark Stanton (@Mark_A_Stanton) March 12, 2020
Why keep him at the club? Hard to imagine anyone wants him there.

What do we think?
It seems as though a wage fine isn’t a suitable punishment for Drinkwater according to these Villa fans who would much rather see the midfielder leave the club altogether. Whatever punishment is delivered to Drinkwater, this situation has not helped his relationship with the Villa fans.
