Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to respond to the latest announcement regarding club captain Jack Grealish.
This comes after the official Villa Twitter account shared a post on their page that contained a statement from their official club website.
The statement revealed that the club is “deeply disappointed” that Grealish ignored the government’s advice and left his home earlier in the week. It also added that Grealish “will be disciplined and fined with the proceeds donated to The University Hospitals Charity in Birmingham”.
Should Jack Grealish be stripped of the Villa captaincy?
Yes
No
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were eager to have their say on this situation.

This isn’t enough for me. I love Jack as much as anyone else, but more needs to be done. Strip him of the captaincy, he’s let the fans, club and the country down

Great leadership, should be ashamed by his decisions, doesn’t deserve to lead the club.
could’ve killed someone.

People in glass houses…….. Just goes to show us all what’s really going on at the club…. Sorry to see our new owners having to deal with children…. On and off the field, massive changes are needed…. Just not good enough @AVFCOfficial

This all comes after Grealish reportedly crashed his car after leaving his home last weekend (per Daily Express). Now that the club has come out and revealed that they have punished Grealish for his actions and ignoring the government guidelines on staying inside, this has sparked a huge reaction from Villa fans who are disappointed with the Englishman’s behaviour.
Disgusting. No other way I can see it. What a disappointment. He can clear off now for all I care.

Hope all fans call it what it is, he’s behaved absolutely disgustingly and it’s horrible to see far and away our biggest and most public figure behaving this way. What he’s done for us on the pitch is unforgettable, but behaviour like this is unforgettable in the worst way #avfc

What do we think?
It was terribly irresponsible for Grealish to be going out unnecessarily when the top authorities had advised against it. It’s good to know that the club has taken action and have punished Grealish accordingly.
