Aston Villa fans have been reacting on Twitter to recent footage of Jack Grealish after Villa’s defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.
This comes after Villa fan account @villareport shared a post on their Twitter page that included video footage originally posted by Football Daily via Sky Sports of a deflated Grealish being consoled by City players after his side’s 2-1 loss at Wembley Stadium.
Did Villa deserve to win the Carabao Cup?
Yes

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were quick to share their reactions to this footage.

The Villa captain played the full 90 minutes of the final, earning himself a match rating of 6.26 according to WhoScored. At the end of the match, Grealish lay down on the pitch exhausted and disheartened by his team’s defeat before being consoled by City’s John Stones and Fernandinho. While this footage upset some Villa fans by seeing their captain down, others took the positives from the match and shared how proud they were of their team.
I’m proud of our team. To be beaten by a goal scored from a bogus corner is harsh but we fought to the end. VTID

What do we think?
For Grealish to be so disappointed at the end of the match just goes to show how much he cares about his club just as much as any fan does. It’s also nice to see the City players taking the time out of their celebrations to talk to Grealish. The Englishman and the rest of the Villa team should take pride in the fact that they made it to the final in the first place and use that pride and confidence to help them out in their bid for Premier League survival.
