Some West Brom fans have been reacting on social media to WhoScored.com’s Team of the Week for the Championship’s recent midweek fixtures.

WhoScored’s official Twitter account recently posted the website’s Championship Team of the Week for the period of the 25th to the 26th of February. The team included two West Brom players – Hal Robson-Kanu and Callum Robinson – following their impressive performances in Tuesday’s 2-0 win over Preston North End.

Robson-Kanu scored and assisted in West Brom’s recent midweek fixture, earning the Welshman an overall rating of 8.2 for his performance. Meanwhile, Robinson made the assist for Robson-Kanu’s goal in Tuesday’s fixture, earning himself an overall rating of 7.9 on WhoScored.

Despite seeing two of their players recognised for their recent performances, some Baggies supporters felt that more of their players should have been included in WhoScored’s Team of the Week, with Ahmed Hegazi and Jake Livermore, in particular, receiving a mention from some fans. What do we think?

While it is important to keep in mind that players from other Championship sides also delivered impressive performances recently, it may be understandable why some West Brom fans would feel that more Baggies players, such as Hegazi and Livermore, should have received more recognition for their midweek performances.

Hegazi made an impressive total of five successful tackles while helping his side to keep a second straight Championship clean sheet against Preston. The Egyptian centre-back also made one key pass in the Baggies’ recent 2-0 win, showcasing his impressive ball-playing ability.

Meanwhile, Livermore managed to get himself on the scoresheet in the Baggies’ midweek win, netting West Brom’s second goal of the game in the 45th minute, putting the league leaders in a comfortable position going into the second half of the game.

The midfielder also made two successful tackles and one interception in a solid midweek performance that encapsulated his reliability in recent weeks. Livermore, who is valued at £6.3 million (Transfermarkt), has earned an overall rating of over 7.0 on WhoScored.com in each of his last six Championship games. Both of these players delivered performances in midweek that may have been worthy of more recognition.
