Sunderland were the convincing winners against Rochdale after they finished the match with a 3-0 lead. However, despite the seventh win in 10 games, some Sunderland fans were left frustrated.
There were a few fans who wanted to see Josh Scowen feature during the game. Scowen completed his transfer from QPR to Sunderland in January for an undisclosed fee and has played just one minute for the Black Cats since his arrival.
After the side had achieved an early 3-0 lead, a few fans admitted that it was a perfect time for Parkinson to sub Scowen on.
Why hasn’t Scowen came on? Freshen the midfield up and give him a fair go. Shocking Subsitutions. #SAFC

Would like to see Lafferty, Scowen & Semenyo at some point. If they don’t get used tonight when will they?

Will Josh Scowen start on the weekend?
Yes
No
But when the match finished with the midfielder failing to feature, there were many fans who questioned when he would ever get his chance. If he isn’t subbed on in a game like that, when will he ever feature? One fan questions if the player is fit enough to play, while another thinks he will start on the weekend.
At this rate Scowen and John might not get much game time between now and the end of the season. #safc

Good point. I’m wondering if John Semenyo and Scowen aren’t yet up to the fitness levels PP demands

What do we think?
There is a chance that Parkinson is saving Scowen for the weekend. Hopefully, for the player, he is given a chance to make his full debut as the Black Cats travel to Oxford. We know there are quite a few fans who are eager to see him play.
