With Sunderland having a full week off between their match against Oxford United over the weekend and their upcoming fixture against Bristol Rovers, Roker Report has asked fans whether Phil Parkinson should make any adjustment’s to his team for the upcoming match.
The question was posed because Sunderland have lost just one match since mid-December, and have kept a clean sheet in seven of their last eight matches.
The fan account acknowledges the team’s recent success, but questions whether any improvements could be made.
Fans quickly responded to the tweet, indicating that they would rather the teamsheet remain unchanged. They fear that any adjustments could result in backward momentum. It’s too risky in their eyes. They claim that the week off means that fatigue shouldn’t be an issue.

Shouldn’t change anything if means they’ll keep firing as we’ve seen of late, change too much and risk going backwards again.

Personally i’d keep it the same, unless someone isnt quite 100% then i’d keep them for the Fleetwood game. I’d like to see Semenyo get some more game time, also think Hume has struggled last few games with his final ball, but doesnt sound like John is ready fitness wise yet

I wouldn’t change a thing. Particularly because they have a full weeks rest under their belts. The system is working well. The starting eleven is settled. Why change it?
I’d like to see Scowen more involved at some point, but there’s no need to force him into the team right now.

Why change it when it’s been so effective? Free week this week to recharge the batteries. Players are all fitting thr system. As long as we are scoring goals I’m not worried about Wyke.

Should Phil Parkinson limit his changes against Bristol Rovers?
Yes
No
The only thing this fan would change is Parkinson’s choice of shoes.
@ShaunSAFCBLOG @jeffred3098 possibly PPs shoes ….. not convinced by suede boots on wet grass

What do we think?
Despite having a week off between Oxford and Bristol Rovers, there are only three days between the side’s matches between Bristol and Fleetwood Town. With Fleetwood being higher in the table than Bristol, and in a position to push into a playoff spot of their own, perhaps resting a few key players is something Parkinson should consider.
