Some Southampton fans have been slamming the performance of Jannik Vestergaard following their loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup.
The Saints fell to a 3-2 defeat in North London on Wednesday, despite having gone 2-1 up in the second half. Late goals from Son Heung-Min and Lucas Moura ensured that Spurs won 3-2, taking Jose Mourinho’s men to the fifth round of the competition.
Is Vestergaard the worst player at Southampton?
Yes, he's clueless
Nah, there's many worse
The game saw Vestergaard come on in the first half for the injured James Ward-Prowse, but many Saints fans were very unhappy with the defender’s performance and feel he isn’t worthy of playing for Southampton.

I know he tries hard but Vestergaard just can’t defend 1 on 1 against anyone who can change direction with the ball at their feet #TOTSOU #FACup

Believe it or not in 2020 Gunn and Vestergaard are still a liability #SaintsFC

Southampton signed Vestergaard from Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer of 2018 for a fee of £18 million, with the Dane had signed a four-year deal at the club.
So far this season, the defender has made only 14 appearances in all competitions for the club. 12 of them have come in the Premier League, with him having scored against Manchester United earlier in the season.
What do we think?
Vestergaard, who is valued at £16.2 million (as per Transfermarkt), has been dribbled past 1.1 times per game in the Premier League this season, suggesting that he does get caught out at the back. That tally is the highest since his first three seasons in the Bundesliga with Hoffenheim, which shows he is potentially regressing and that he should perhaps only be a squad player and not a regular starter.
