Some Sheffield Wednesday fans have been left to slam the decision-making of Cameron Dawson for a piece of action against Millwall recently.

The Owls were held to a goalless draw by the London-based side at the weekend. The game saw Garry Monk’s men register 15 shots, while Millwall had seven attempts on goal for themselves. The result meant that Wednesday have only won a single game out of their last seven Championship fixtures.

Do you think Dawson should leave Wednesday?

One moment from the game went viral on social media recently. A Wednesday supporter posted a passage of play from the match on Twitter and many Wednesday fans made it clear that Dawson is error-prone and he needs to do better.

24-year-old Dawson has made a total of 21 appearances in all competitions this season. In the Championship, he has made 17 appearances for the side. During this time, he has kept seven clean sheets while letting in 18 goals for Monk’s men.

He had started only three of the club’s first 17 league games but has slowly become the preferred man between the sticks for the Owls after Keiren Westwood was dropped.

What do we think?

Stats show that Dawson’s passing does need to improve. His passing accuracy stands at a poor 44% even when he plays an average of 30.6 passes per game. Wednesday fans are right to point out this weakness in his approach to the game.
