Some Sheffield Wednesday fans have been left disturbed by the reaction of Alessio Da Cruz after their loss to Luton Town in the Championship.
The Owls lost 1-0 to the Hatters on Wednesday, as a first-half goal by James Collins’ saw them fail to beat another potential relegation candidate days after a draw against Barnsley in the Championship.
Were you disturbed by Da Cruz's reaction?
Yes, it made him cry
No, that was normal
After the defeat, Wednesday fans were chanting ‘you’re not fit to wear that shirt’, but some Owls fans have been feeling sorry for Da Cruz as they feel he didn’t have a bad game:
Felt sorry for Da Cruz at the end, looked genuinely gutted, was only player trying to make things happen

Here’s what other Owls fans thought about Da Cruz’s performance and reaction:
Only positive… DA CRUZ #swfc

Think he just realised what a shambles of a club he’d joined

I think we made Da Cruz cry last night with the chant at the end. That’s a shame because he was certainly trying hard, just nothing really came off for him. Poor chap just happened to be closest to the away end at the final whistle and got both barrels. #swfc

I thought he was the only player who looked bothered last night pal, actually had a bit of spark about him

Looks like he might have something but will take time. But if it hurt him you know he cares atleast

He try’s hard if he can settle in be alright but it’s probably the worst loan move imaginable for him at this moment in time

Da Cruz joined Wednesday on a loan deal from Serie A side Parma in the recent transfer window. He had spent the first half of the season on loan at Serie B side Ascoli.
He’s already made three appearances for the Owls, playing against the Hatters, Barnsley and Millwall. He is yet to score or assist for the club.
For Ascoli in the first half of the Serie B campaign, Da Cruz scored five and had six assists to his name in 15 appearances.
What do we think?
The game against Luton saw Da Cruz complete two dribbles and he also won a single tackle in the game, boasting of a passing accuracy of 84.6%. This shows that it wasn’t the worst performance but for a player who is playing in England for the first time, perhaps he will only get better.
