Some Sheffield Wednesday fans have been left fuming by Garry Monk’s comments about the club’s players.
As quoted by the Sheffield Star, Monk said that the players should be ready for ‘battle’ in their upcoming Championship game against Luton Town. He also urged the players to make ‘a quick turnaround’ ahead of the game, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Barnsley last weekend.
Should Monk be sacked if he loses to Luton?
Absolutely, he should be gone
Give him a chance
When the Sheffield Star posted the article on Twitter, it left many Owls fans fuming. They want to see the club competing better against the Championship’s lower-placed sides, and some feel failure to beat Luton should see Monk facing the sack.
Well done Garry. A wage bill multiple times theirs and we “competed”. Maybe don’t ostracise your best players?

If we don’t beat Luton I want you out my club

We need much more than competing especially against teams at the bottom, we need passion, we need pride, we need confidence, we need belief, and we need inspiration, all need to be instilled into the team by the management.

Omg not that old chestnut of ‘composure’ again

“Competed” we should be hammering them

And a more competent keeper me thinks.

The Owls’ Championship form has not exactly been spectacular in recent games. They’ve won just a single game out of their last eight league outings and the last two games have been draws against Barnsley and Millwall.
Monk’s men are 12th in the Championship with just 44 points in the bag going into tonight’s game. They find themselves six points off the play-off places.
What do we think?
Luton find themselves at the bottom of the Championship and a loss could be rather embarrassing for the Owls. If they don’t win, Monk’s future could be in jeopardy.
