Any Rangers fans who watched last night’s game against Hibernian will almost surely be talking non-stop about Ianis Hagi’s wonder goal to win the match in the 84th minute. The goal itself was stunning, but can only be called ‘the winner’ because of George Edmundson’s contribution earlier in the match.
The defender tied the game up during stoppage time in the first half, which proved to be the catalyst for Steven Gerrard’s side to go on and win the game. The fans loved his finish and were impressed by the goal.

Big Edmundson tonight. Those passes (bar one) and that finish
Geo! Geo! Geo!— David Kane (@David_K24) February 5, 2020
gotta say I love George Edmundson and think he loves us even more, at the end of the game he walked around the stadium clapping fans and cheering. Great to see.

Who would you start next to Edmundson?
Goldson
Katic
However, it wasn’t just the goal that caught the attention of fans. His overall performance impressed them, to the extent that some of them are even calling for him to become a regular starter. Aside from 19-year-old Lewis Mayo, who has been unused so far this season, George Edmunson has made the least number of appearances of Gerrard’s centre-backs. The fans think that statistic needs to change.
4-2-3-1 is the way to go and agreed, Edmundson looked very composed and Hagi is a proper talent

A win is a win! All though we went behind we looked really collected and full of ideas to break down Hibs, Few players in desperate need for the break though! Thought Hagi was easily the starman of tonight ran the show and Edmundson came in and done everything we ever wanted!RFC! pic.twitter.com/ye2nywosjZ

What do we think?
Edmundson clearly had an important role to play in Gerrard’s win. However, these fans think his importance was bigger than just the goal. They want the £630,000-rated man to become a regular in the Rangers first-team.
