It was looking like another one of those games for Rangers as they played Hibs on Wednesday night. After 35 minutes, the Gers found themselves 1-0 down to the visitors when Paul Hanlon found the back of the net. George Edmundson equalised for Steven Gerrard’s side in first-half stoppage time, giving the team a slight sense of relief heading into the break. But in the second half, it seemed as if that winning goal was never going to come.
That was until Ianis Hagi, one of Rangers’ latest signings, scored a brilliant volley across the face of the goal and into the back of the net, which helped him secure a rating of 8/10 for his performance (Rangers News). It was a great way for him to celebrate his first start for the side, and more importantly, it earned the Gers all three points.
Some fans thought his entire performance was impressive. A couple of supporters appreciated how he spoke with the captain, James Tavernier, about tactics on the touchline as well. Ultimately, it was something they just ‘loved to see’.
Hagi was very impressive. Hope his performance spurs on others in the team. He looks a very infectious player. Hope Kent takes note because he has that type of performance in him also. I don’t like talking about referee performances but that cannot be a coincidence, it’s cheating

Was almost scripted for Hagi junior to score the winning goal on his first start and on his dads birthday.
A fans hero already. pic.twitter.com/a8WveTXUit

Indeed, one fan even suggested he’ll be next for the Alfredo Morelos treatment. It appears as if this fan isn’t the only one who has noticed a strong force against the Colombian, as former Ger Kenny Miller has also spoken about how he thinks the striker is up against it.
What a game young Hagi has had. He’ll be next for the Morelos treatment from the rest of the SPFL.

Is Ianis Hagi going to be better than his dad?
Yes
No
Others can’t tell which his best foot is, while another makes the bold claim that he is better than his father. It’s a silly claim, but we’ll allow it.
Is Ianis Hagi stronger on his left foot or right foot? I don’t know. You don’t know. Nobody will ever know.

What do we think?
It is probably too early in his career for Ianis to be compared to his father, Gheorghe. But the finish from him in this match shows the true potential he has. It also shows his ability to come up clutch when his team is in search of a goal. In his first start, Ianis is already on the scoresheet.
Who knows what the future holds for him at Rangers Football Club?
