Fans of Nottingham Forest have been reacting to a post on Twitter in which Sabri Lamouchi discusses Forest’s performance in their crucial 1-0 victory over Cardiff City on Tuesday night.

Lamouchi has revolutionised Forest since his arrival last July, taking over a squad that had finished the 2018/19 Championship in ninth place, eight points adrift of the play-off places.

In the former French international’s 39 games in charge of the Reds thus far, he has overseen 18 victories, 11 draws and 10 defeats, with Forest currently sitting in third place in the Championship table after their victory in Wales.

Following Forest’s latest win, a 1-0 away victory against a Cardiff side who had previously only lost once at home this season, the Frenchman was full of praise for his players, stating:

“It was a fantastic performance, a great result. I think the lads deserved this victory. But what a game, what effort and sacrifice from everyone. Lewis [Grabban], he didn’t score, but what a game. Ben Watson, our captain, all the time he makes the right decisions, all the time he’s in a good position. From everyone, I liked the attitude, the commitment, they were all involved.”

Forest fans are understandably delighted with the impact which Lamouchi has had on their side, and in reaction to his post-match comments, took to Twitter to praise the 48-year-old.

What do we think?

Regardless of whether Forest can overtake Leeds in second place, and thus achieve automatic promotion to the Premier League, this season will surely go down as a rousing success for Lamouchi and his side.

The Frenchman’s arrival, coupled with Forest’s much-improved performances, appears to have reinstated hope among the Forest fans, something that they can’t have had too much of since their relegation from the Premier League 21 years ago.
