Fans of Nottingham Forest have been reacting to a post by Joe Lolley, in which the 27-year-old highlights the stats of teammate Ben Watson following their victory over Cardiff City on Tuesday night.

Watson, who arrived at the City Ground from Watford in 2018, has been influential in Forest’s promotion push this season, starting 100% of their 35 Championship fixtures, averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.91.

The 34-year-old was brilliant once again in Nottingham Forest’s crucial 1-0 defeat of Cardiff on Tuesday, earning the Man of the Match award, alongside a WhoScored rating of 7.02.

In recognition of Watson’s impressive performance, Lolley quote-tweeted Sky Sports’ post, declaring Watson a “Sweet ginger prince.”

Forest fans, in reaction to Lolley’s light-hearted comment, have taken to Twitter to join Lolley in his praise for their veteran central midfielder.

What do we think?

Watson, who is valued at £450k (as per Transfermarkt), has been pivotal to Sabri Lamouchi’s preferred style of play so far at Forest, as the central midfielder’s strengths of intercepting and blocking of the ball, as well as his range of passing, lend themselves perfectly to a counter-attacking brand of football.
