Fans of Nottingham Forest have been reacting to a post on social media which discusses whether Tyler Walker should be sent on loan again next season.
Walker spent the first half of this season on loan at League One Lincoln City, where he scored an impressive 14 goals in 26 league starts for the club.
However, due to Sabri Lamouchi’s side being short in attacking options, and having failed to sign a striker in the January transfer window, Walker became cover for Lewis Grabban.
Almost immediately, the 23-year-old made an impact, coming off the bench to score the crucial second goal in Forest’s 2-0 victory over second-placed Leeds United.
In Forest’s next game at home against Charlton, the Frenchman decided to rest his key players, and in doing so, awarded Walker a start. However, he performed poorly, receiving a WhoScored match rating of just 6.11, and Forest would eventually go on to lose the game 1-0.
Since then, Walker has played just 11 minutes of football over two fixtures, and unless Grabban picks up an injury, it would appear that playing time will be limited for the Nottingham-born striker.
As such, Forest fans have been discussing on social media what the future should hold for the £900k-rated Walker, with some suggesting another loan spell would do him good, while others think that a permanent move away from the club would suit them better.

Depends what league we’re in. Believe he is ready for the Championship but not for the Premier League where we will hopefully be. ? #NFFC

He’s been playing for 2 seasons at a level that suits his ability. He’ll always be a bench warmer above the 1st Division.

Sabri doesn’t rate him, has hardly played since he has come back. Sell.

No just sell him

Guess it depends where we’re starting the season. If it’s in the championship then it makes less sense loaning him out compared to if we’re in the Prem and there’s (hopefully) a lot more competition in his position.

Play him or sell him now. Not fair on the lad.

What do we think?
Tyler Walker has proven goalscoring ability, as is evident from his time spent at Lincoln City, and given time, he could easily return similar numbers in the Championship.
However, if Forest were to achieve promotion this season, it is difficult to imagine the 23-year-old warranting a place as Grabban’s backup, as a more experienced striker may be required in the Premier League.
