Fans of Nottingham Forest have been reacting to a post by City Ground HQ on Twitter, which asked fans to describe their former manager Mark Warburton in one word – ahead of the fixture between the two sides this Saturday.

Warburton took over at Forest in March 2017 with the club lingering two points above the Championship relegation zone and would go on to win three, draw two and lose four of Forest’s last nine matches, eventually surviving relegation on goal difference alone following a 3-0 win over Ipswich in the final day of the season.

Despite starting the 2017/18 season strongly with three wins from their first five games, Warburton would eventually be sacked in December 2017, with the club sitting in 14th place in the Championship, with a record of 10 wins, one draw and 14 losses.

The 57-year-old is now in charge at Forest’s Championship rivals QPR, who they face on Saturday, and in reflection of his time as the Reds boss, City Ground HQ asked Forest fans to “Sum up Mark Warburton’s tenure of Nottingham Forest in just ONE word!”

What do we think?

Considering Warburton’s current side QPR have scored 80 goals and conceded 100 during his 52 matches in charge of the club, it is surprising to hear that Forest fans think his football is “boring”.

Indeed, in the current season, QPR rank third-highest in total goals scored (51) and joint second-highest in total goals conceded (58).
