Fans of Leeds have been reacting to footage posted on Twitter, in which former Leeds United academy player David Seaman declares: “I’m a Leeds fan.”
Seaman began his career at the West Yorkshire club, however, he failed to make an appearance for them before his move to Peterborough in 1982.
The English goalkeeper would go on to sign for Birmingham City and eventually Arsenal, where would make 480 appearances, keeping 193 clean sheets, winning two league titles and four FA Cups.
However, despite his 13-year trophy-laden spell at the Gunners, recent footage has emerged of Seaman declaring his love his boyhood club, Leeds.
In the clip, he states: “I’m a Leeds fan. Arsenal fans and little kids say ‘You support Arsenal don’t you?’ and I say ‘No, I’ve always been a Leeds fan.'”
Upon viewing the video, Leeds fans have taken to social media to praise Seaman, with many declaring their belief that his time at the club was far too short.

What do we think?
David Seaman had a long and illustrious career, appearing 525 times for four different clubs, in addition to making 77 appearances for England.
However, going by his comments, one would imagine that Seaman would have loved to play just once for Leeds, something that the Whites’ fans would no doubt have equally liked to witness.
