Former Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford has been speaking emotionally about his time with the club. The 36-year-old was speaking on the TalkSPORT Drive show on Tuesday and spoke fondly of his time at Elland Road prior to their clash against Brentford.
Beckford commented on how painful it was to leave the club, and some Whites supporters have taken to social media to share their views on their former striker.
Would Beckford have flourished under Marcelo Bielsa?

Others were less complimentary of the striker who left the club for Everton on a free transfer in 2010.
Really? Must have been a different fella who wouldn’t sign a new contract, submitted a transfer request to force a move, withdrew it then left for nowt to collect a hefty signing on fee at Everton.

What do we think?
Jermaine Beckford made 147 appearances for Leeds in which he scored an incredible 84 goals (stats via Transfermarkt) – he was a striker who certainly knew where the net was. The forward went on to play in the Premier League with Everton for whom he made 40 appearances and scored 10 goals.
We will never know how Beckford would have fared under the current management, but a striker who averaged a goal every 1.75 games for Leeds certainly wouldn’t have done the club’s promotion hopes any harm.
